Alec, one of my financial newsletters had this to say on the subject of aviation fuel, "Jet fuel has risen to $170 a barrel. That's a scorching 98% increase from this time last year. According the International Air Transport Association, the rise in jet fuel costs is on track to cost the global airline industry an extra $72 billion this year."

Well I ate a silver for dinner this evening... It didn't have much flavor. I guess flash freezing takes a lot out of the fish.

Yep. I expect a merger or two on the horizon, and a few shutting down.

I've been hearing that air service from/to a few cities is going to be a thing of the past.

Most places here in Anchorage are up to $4 a gallon now. Back in Bethel I heard its up to around $6 a gallon now. I don't plan on any fishing trips this summer at those prices. It is going to be a long summer and I plan on riding my bike and walking for most of it. I bought a rear fender yesterday at the bike shop, no more dirt trails up my back.

Default Bethel Roomates (and CFI to continue flight training)

Greetings,

I'm moving to Bethel in August for a 10 month job that involves weekly travel and overnight stays in the villages. If anyone wants a responsible, quiet roommate that will be gone much of the time, please contact me. I need a very small, affordable space to store my supplies and sleep when I'm in town and am willing to assist with reasonable tasks around the house, apt, trailer, etc...

I don't want or need a big, expensive place with lots of privacy and amenities, usually have access to internet, laundry, and shower facilities at work and won't be running up utility bills (which appear to be very high there).

Any situation/space is fine as my goal is to share expenses to reduce rent.
I do not abuse alcohol, smoke, abuse drugs, etc and am not judgmental of the decisions of others. You won't even know I'm there.

I'm 25/M and professional w/ references from employer and past roommates. Have a good one!!

Joel 585-305-2765 currently in Anchorage
