Xa'at the Canon you got for your BD is one I have been considering (either that one or a Nikon), looks like it takes great pics (and Cheesecake is absolutely adorable!), but how is the ease of use? And just curious as to what everyone would consider a decent (read fairly cheap) photo printer? I had been using an old Kodak photo printer dock but it gave up the ghost.

I'd love to ride a motorcycle on the Alcan! I've drove it 13 times in a car/truck and I'm ready for a bike. One of these years. There are a lot of people that ride up and down the Alcan every summer. Here is a blog on a guy that drove up from Seattle.

Ha! Well the only wildlife I saw were ducks & seagulls. Actually, there were quite a few little ducklings out by themself, I felt bad for them. Where were the parents? Lots of branches, brown water & speedboats but because it's the river, the whole thing is a no-wake zone, nice! Regardless, I had the hardest time trying to just STAY STRAIGHT! For some reason, the kayak kept going to the left or the right, it seemed magnitized towards either the wall or another boat! Too funny.

Landed in Anchortown about 9:30 PM last night. Got out about 20 miles (Bird Creek) and was held up by a car wreck (see ADN)...sat for an hour and finally turned around and slept in the HanVan along Turnagain Arm. Now back at work missing my girl.
It's even hot here in Kuparuk! I've been half way around the world this past week and it's hot everywhere! +95 in Denver yesterday. It was like an oven walking down the jetway to board.

Rance, the slope has our summer weather. Its raining here and windy and only 52 degrees. I put my mud tires back on lastnight on my mountain bike. I put my new 2.2 inch tires on, I'm saving my 2.5 inchers for winter, might even get studded tires this winter.

You know, we really got ripped off last summer (well, we didn't have one) so I think mother nature is making up for it now. I'm not complaining. I love seeing the sun, clear skies, middle to upper 70s, mid 80s last week. I've been sipping mint juleps and mojitos after work every day. Moreso on the weekend.
