Warpt... Ya shoulda hopped a jet to Barrow and watched Grandma last night! She put on a real show, and everybody just loved it! (What is her son's name? I missed it. It was his birthday, and they teased him greatly, and then the whole crowd sang happy birthday for him.)

Grammy was beaming!

Actually, they did get visibly stunned by one reaction. First there was all kinds of (mostly mushy bs from the NSB mayor Edward Itta) talk about ancient exchanges of songs between Barrow and Bethel; but then they did the "Blessing Dance", and after it was finished they said it was meant to encourage all the subsistence hunters, whalers, caribou hunters, etc. I'm sure they are used to describing that to people in places like Anchorage or Fairbanks, and expect that away from home they have to explain what it means. But when he said "subsistence hunters" the crowd here started making noise, which apparently startled the speaker who sort of muttered "whalers" at that point... and of course that brought on a literal roar from the crowd here! Then the fellow talking recovered, and fully realized he wasn't in Anchorage, and with whaling just around the corner, he'd pushed the big button!

I wish I was there Floyd. My uncle's name is Harley. Gramma has a great sense of humor! Nephler, the drive was good, no problems. There was rough spots from the McKinley Look out lodge to up past the old Igloo lodge. Other than that, bare pavement with some black ice. It took us 6.5 hours to get here.

I just put a set of Sylvania Silver Star lights on my truck, what a difference! Night time driving just got much better! Got them at Wallymart.

I thought I was a goner after we went out for Chinese food. I came home and ate a box of chocolates. I was one hurting pup for sure.

We went to Brewster's lastnight for Valentines dinner, now I'm up at 6:45am not wandering far from the bathroom. I'm never going there again. I had the surf and turf, I'm thinking the turf part of it and the fries got to me.
