Sitting in the Arlanda Airport. It's midnight here. Will be airborn at 6:25 am. It's going to be a long day. Worst part is...besides leaving the wife...I may miss NASCAR. Hoping to catch some of the race while sitting in Minneapolis tomorrow. Hows the weather in Anchorage? Cold? We get any snow this last week?

Gnarly. Might be a tad chilly starting the HanVan around 8 PM.

You two paid your dues!
Girl...treat yourself to a pity party! the shock will wear off!! After 28 years my hubby is in the same place almost....Corp has been shutting his facility down for 6 months...he management and has to let go the union guys he worked with for 28 years. Corp and upper management could give a flying FK. Our problem is they are dragging it out and we are ready to move to Alaska..now they have postponed the shutdown date again screwing thing up more....as the company file Chp.11 for the second time he may lose his severance, vacation time, re-training etc.....Blows big time but we did get thru the inital shock, anger, freak out...I asked him what he wanted to be when he grew up He gets it now and is ready to move but.....we all got problems and we will survive....so you've joined the club of "dancing on the dege of survival" welcome aboard lean on people in the same boat and we'll survive dispite the crap girl!!

I have to check in around 4 AM and fly at 6:25 AM...so I hop a train and head up here the night before. I'd have to get up around 3 AM if I had a room in Stockholm for the night.

Lyoness, that sucks seriously. It's ok to feel like crap & wallow in it for awhile, it's expected. But like others have said, this is a great time for you to really think about what you want to do & just go for it. It's never too late & you're never too old. I'm in the process of possibly starting a pet-sitting business. I'll probably never make a lot of money doing it, which is worrisome, but it's something I really want to do & that's really all that matters, right? It's totally scary thinking about changing careers or starting a business but you'll never know what it's like unless you just say screw it & do it. Just make sure you do something that YOU want to do. On a side note, is anyone going to watch the Oscars tomorrow night? I have an annual get together, although this year I won't be going all out on food & booze, money's tight of course. But I'm excited for it, all of us fill out the ballots & put a couple bucks in the pot & whoever gets the most correct wins the money. It's good times.
