I think lakes are good, I'm see all sorts of people out with their trucks on the lakes. I drove a little ways up Jim Creek today and drove on some of Knik River (where there were other tracks). Just some open spots on Knik, but the Matanuska, well, not sure I'd go too close to that one.

There are some basic sites which you just go to in order to just watch streamed TV.

Justin.TV, Surfthechannel.com, Ustream.TV, Channelchooser.com

They are all pretty easy, I watch JTV a lot because there is always something interesting on it. Depending on how good you are with setting stuff up on your PC, there are other sites in which you install a little app on your computer and it lets you watch streams of really anything you want. It's not too hard to set up. What sorts of programs are you looking to watch?

Streaming TV is great, since I don't need cable because I don't watch much anyways, and the HD looks great on my monitor and my TV which I have hooked up to this computer.

From NWS - posted 236 PM akst Wednesday Feb 25 2009:

Surface: a 989 mb low moving east across southwest Alaska this
evening will open up as a 1005 mb low over the western Alaska
Range late Wednesday night. Ridge will build quickly to the eastern
Bering Sea after midnight... then to the rest of the West Coast
zones by Thursday evening. Ridge will be short lived... as it is
pushed east Thursday night and Friday by very energetic front sweeping
across the totality of the eastern Bering and chukchi seas. By
late Friday night... the front will extend from a 984 mb low near
wrangel island to zone 201... to south over Galena... and to
Kodiak. The front will continue east of Prudhoe Bay... Fort
Yukon... and Fairbanks by Sat evening.

North slope: northeast winds will increase from Barrow west
tonight... then back to northwest Thursday as cold air spreads east.
The same will happen east of Barrow from Thursday through Thursday night.
Strong northwest winds combined with snow over zone 204 may
produce blizzard conditions beginning early Thursday evening and
continuing through Thursday night... therefore a blizzard watch will be
issued. Another front will spread snow and winds across the North
Slope zones Friday night through Sat.

I think this means a bit of snow, winds and blowing snow.

The wind has picked up here in Anchorage. While flying today we encountered some turbulence as the front moved in.
