ya know, I don't really post much, but really enjoy reading all of it. For myself, I've learned a lot from this forum and with all the research that I've done, I'm sure our move will be great.

Hell, it's fun just looking at houses. I can't wait to get out of the People's Republic here.

Eh, I always enjoy some on Saturday night. That's what I work all week for, well, not really. And believe me, nothing is cheap here in San Jose.

We've been looking at many homes throughout Ak, well, mainly SC. And yes, it's lots of fun. We're just waiting for the right timing, too early for us, around late May - June to find something. We really plan on renting for about 6 months to make sure we are where we want to be.

Back to the recession topic. Where we live now is nasty. You can drive down just about any road and about 2 out of 5 homes are for sale, many are vacant.

My background is in real estate and this collapse was overdue. Everybody knew it was coming but tried to ride the good times while they lasted. It will be the impetus for any possible recession. However, the recession isn't here yet, merely the gloom-and-doom surrounding the possibility.

We've done a lot of comparison shopping, online and a few phone calls, and most things in South Central AK are the same price as here in northern Michigan. Minus the taxes we pay. Some things are more there, some more here...it all works out in the wash.
