Just to give yall a chuckle
North Carolina is expecting it's first major winter storm in several years, the road crews have already started to work, the storm is expected to hit this morning, freezing temps, in spots as low as 20 degrees and heavy snow accumulation, perhaps as much as 2 to 4 inches are expected. Thankfully it will hit on a weekend, otherwise at least 2 or 3 days of school would have been cancelled. Perhaps one of the saddest side effects of this storm is the reaction, the populace, most of my neighbors, will assault the grocery stores buying up all the milk, bread, sandwich meats, eggs, butter et al and will, at times, actually fight each other for these goods. I refuse to participate in this quaint local custom, I doubt we will starve to death before it all melts away, probably by Monday.

back a couple years ago, salt trucks were out, schools were closed, people were hounding the stores...why? because there was a forecast of about 1 inch of snow. it never came. i laughed

Weather Update: We have about 3 inches so far, my German Shepherds are enjoying it throughly. Jorja, the young lady (18 Mo, daughter of Dreifus the very large Male) has now seen snow for the first time, she has discovered that A. it is edible B. it is slide-able C. If she works it right, she can spin and slide at the same time. The girl is having a wonderful time. So is Dreifus, he loves snow, just doesn't see it much. I really enjoy watching them cavort in the yard.
