My favorite place is Fairbanks. Well actually my really favorite place is the little forest that borders the north and east side of Creamer's Field. The Chickadee sanctuary. Nothing like being specific. :-)

Can I have seconds? My second favorite place is anywhere in Sitka because the god Raven owns Sitka -- just fascinating to watch and listen to them, everywhere, ignoring business, tourists, noises, kids crying, other birds!!

Hard to tell which is the perfect place, but there are nice moments just about anywhere in the world, not just Alaska:

-40 degrees or so around North Pole.

A slough in May (notice the ice still there).

Our dog having fun in May

camano lady is on a distinguished road
Anchorage is nice, in fact that whole area is but as far as peace and quiet my feeling is the interior around Delta Junction.
The people are good neighbors, lots of scenic mountains, clear sky, fresh air, sunshine on the snow, what more could a person ask for.

My second best place is Moose Pass, Alaska on lower trail lake. Sitting on the edge of the bank just beyond the bon fire over looking the lake with the loons floating by the eagles flying over head the sound of the current of the creek flowing into the lake and the smell of delicious hot dogs on the grill, Yep best place on earth.

It's pretty hard "not" to find a perfect place on the peninsula. Moose Pass is defiantely one of them.

Incredibly beautiful places, depending on the season or time, by Summit Lake (off the Richardson Highway), but then i have had just a beautiful moments right at my campsite at night during moose season. My hunting partner and I set out campsite in the trees on a ridge-top, and sometimes we are there, Northern Lights all around us. Meanwhile the wolves howling not too far below.

During the day, while sitting on a small chair, I sometimes watch Martin and other furry creatures playing, hawks and other birds of pray flying around, grouse on the trail...

While hunting near Summit Lake, I have been in places where I could just fall asleep on the soft vegetation (a myriad of rust and gold colors), if it wasn't because of bears nearby.

There is beauty all around us, if we can only stop to see it, no matter where one lives.

If I had my way, I'd have to go for Valdez. Living in the fjord there is a dream that probably won't happen.
