My brother has quite a lot of luck with hitching the "Parks Hwy". Only in the summer April-Sept) though, and always trust your gut. Don't go hiking off into the woods!

The way I plan on doing it is fly into Anchorage, rent a car then travel to Seward. Fairbanks, Denali, Homer, rest of Kenai Peninsula and winging it with all other points in between. The drive from Anchorage to Seward is incredible. Considered renting an RV but don't want the hassle.
