Alyeska is the only place I've downhilled. I like it, although it seems like it may be shorter (and steeper) runs compared to places outside of AK.

Skiing in stowe is awesome, but I have never skiied in AK. I am origionally a Vermonter and am heading up to AK in May.. I know there will be no snow left, but any other suggestions of places to go? Is AK where you are originally from or VT? Also, do you know anything about wasilla, AK (that is around where I plan to be)!?

We have snow up in the mountains in May. It ususally is all gone by July or so. It's just wetter than normal.

I tried down hill skiing one time, I learned very quickly that I can't stop or turn. I fall rather well, and hard.
