My guess would be that this is a thread on Alaska politicians and I suspect that this Murkowski person is somewhat less than popular. Please excuse my nearly universal ignorance but, just who is this "murkowski" guy and what did he do?

Oh thats an easy one...he's simply the most corrupt Republican in American history.

Unfortunately he's also associated with Alaska....no surprise right ? He's part of the Big-3 of Alaska dirtbag republicans with partners in crime Don Young & Ted Stevens

30 years in Washington DC, passed a law so he could place his daughter in his seat in Washington (his mouth-piece) w/o a vote and become a one-term governor of Alaska

He was a crappie governor in part because he's in bed with big oil, in part because he's dishonest.....being in bed with industry is what republicans do, and he's quite good at it....behind closed doors of coarse

Wanted his own jet aircraft at taxpayers expense ...state government said no....didn't stop Frank at all, he purchased it anyway with state money, used it during his campaign for re-election which was illegal of coarse. Left the state with a 20 year-old jet that was actually worth half what he paid for it..... the guys a loser

Come election time he received 19%....even his republican cronies were ready to toss him under the bus

Most of those Alaska republican cronies our now serving time in jail.......with any luck at all maybe Franks will follow.

He flat disappeared for over a year now.....during the FBI investigation of corrupt Alaska republicans, which is far from over

Aside from that he's is an arrogant bastard

"DANG!!" I say. Every time I ask about "Hirsuteus Giganticus", or "Pedular Maximus" this forum goes mum on the subject, people who normally expound at length on a wide variety of subjects suddenly become stricken with with three word sentences. Taint like I'm gonna bug it for an autograph or somethin'.

Oops, forgot my manners, Thanks User 3 for the explaination, makes sense. Sometimes I almost wish there were special punishments for those who abuse the public trust, but, then again, I can be a Draconian S.O.B. at times.

There are some special punishments....examine the number of Alaska politicians, all republicans btw, that have been convicted in the last year and are in the slammer

One of these dirtbags wanted to wait til a daughter had her baby to report to jail in California...that didn't fly. These guys all think they're somebody special

And...its not over, they are after Ben Stevens, his old man Ted Stevens and his side-kick Don Young, all crooks, with any luck they could be one big happy family in jail, where they should be.

All part of "The Bridges to Nowhere" scam....

Not at all....there's nothing over there either, except for large tracks of land that belong to Alaska politicians.

Its pretty much the same story at Ketchikan with "The Bridges to Nowhere".....you gotta know the entire story, it revolves around who owns the "undeveloped land" over there as to why those bridges were "needed"....

Of coarse their spin is its needed for easier access to the airport which was crappolla

All that information was discovered when these " needed projects" were looked at a couple years ago.

Now...those republican land speculators are chit outta luck....it back-fired on them

I was just having a look at the land on Port MacKenzie on Wikimapia & I noticed what looked like farmland was actually rows cut out of the forest. It looked a lot like someone had cut the land for subdivisions but hadn't started to build yet.

yep......the politicians and several of their developer croonies had big $ profits in mind, until it was discovered that lower-48 tax dollars wouldn't be made available to build them a very spendy bridge

Its nearly the exact same scenario down at Ketchikan....you gotta look at the actual owners of the land down there to understand that it was nothing but a costly scam for huge profits by a limited number of people.....in the past this kinda bs went right through with the help of Stevens & Young being able the earmark the funds for their friends projects

They wanna develop those areas they need to buck-up and build their own friggen bridges.

At Anchorage, I think at this point they are working to develop a ferry system to serve that area over there, and not at their expense of coarse....

The Ted Stevens/Don Young spin on the "Bridges to Nowhere" was the need to drive over to the airport rather than use the ferry system thats in place for that, which work just fine btw

The Ted Stevens/Don Young spin on the Anchorage deal was the City of Anchorage needs room to expand

Seems like the "Bridges to Nowhere" scam had a price tag of nearly half-a-billion dollars when completed...

And, their partner-in-crime Frank Murkowski left the state with this white elephant.

Sold for 500k less than the state paid for it 12 months earlier plus they made a couple 500k+ payments on it....

This piece-of-crap was over 20 years old when Murchitski used his state position to purchase it when there wasn't a legitimate reason to have it other then for himself and his failed re-election campaign

oh ya...he said it was also needed to fly prisoners somewhere, right Frank...thats what Alaska Airlines is for you fool

These republicans can always come up with a scam reason why they need things.....Murky and Stevens and Young are all from the same school of scam
