You can find server jobs on craigslist--looks like there's a few of them. If I were you I'd get one for a few months when you first get there and then go to work in a different part of the state for the summer.

I have a few friends there that are around your age. That's primarily why I'm traveling up there this summer.

Then I would probably follow what Metla has been telling you & see where it leads from there.

I would think so. Or you could drive your vehicle out there & see most of the country at the same time.

Any young people in talkeetna??? I think once i am up there, i am going to want to live in a cute little town.(but i guess i will have to see) I lived in aspen, colorado for awhile and loved it!! It was small but fun! If alaska doesnt work out, im def. going back there...but i am going to try with all my heart to give it a chance!!

Lets get the facts about me..
I am 24, single, and conservative (towards politics and life....not drinking..haha)
I like working in the bar industry....
I want to be more outdoorsy..be around fun people that will take out 4wheeling, camping etc...
I love hanging out with guys..no weirdos though
It would be Nice to find a group of girls also...friendly....like to get together drink wine and talk **** on men!haha
I pretty much get along with everyone/..i guess thats why i am moving...growing up in this town, i know everyone and are friends with all of them..Its hard to please everyone someimes....and i just want my alone time....before i am completely stuck in the social scene! If that makes sense...

So far..illbe in anchorage on friday....and staying at a B&b for a month...
while im there, look into wasilla, girdwood and talkeetna?? does this sound right?? haha

Im sorry, i know i think way too hard about things... but when your moving so far away...possibly permanently/...there are no rooms for error.....

any other advice??
(im so damn needy..haha)

where I am from..what I am use to:
lots of tourist in summer
the beach( to tan, surf, or camp with bonfires at night)
bars....lots of them!
4wheeling in cornfields
Crabcakes (yummy md blue crabs) with old bay
Natural Light Beer
Sports!! Lots of them!!
