Yep, it could be. Just have enough $ with you just in case you have to run some more. By the way, it's -40 around Fairbanks this week, which is about average at this time of year.

Lots of folks get Internet brides, or buy Russian, and Asian wives. Once they are here and get their "legal" residency, quite a lot of them wives find other husbands

You are correct. When we date all we see things we like or enjoy, and the ones not mentioned...later.

I married a second time while in the military, over 27 years ago. I saw this cute redhead leading slightly over a counter, very slim girl, long hair down her back. But things didn't work that way for me, since she landed me like a salmon on the gravel bar. She just set the reel's drag nice and gently, then the hook, gave the line just enough slack for me to move around and fight-back without knowing why, and by the time I realized it, all i could do was to flap my tail on the shore.

But guess what? She has made me the happiest man I have ever been for the past 27 years. I don't know exactly how, but one thing is certain: we have never had the preconceived notions mentioned above. As a man all I can say is that the reason why our marriage has worked is because of her. She is gentle, never raises her voice, she does not tell me how to be, she never tries to change me, she is loving, respectful, not demanding, extremely strong core values, always knows what is right and wrong...

I changed my ways because of her. To the women in this forum: you have the power to make a marriage work. Also, even if you don't like what Dr. Laura has to say on the AM radio, she is right. You have the power. We men are very simply creatures.

Check it out...when I was in the Navy...there were all kinds of guys hooking up in the Philippines and S Pacific...hot little things, these girls, sleeping with really ugly guys, guys who otherwise couldn't get a date...you know the deal. Guy falls "in love" guy marries girl, takes her back to the states and she takes him for everything he has and then collects boyfriends...It's sad. Not all stories end this way, but I saw my fair share.

I say arranged marriages are the way to go.

Have any of you guys been on the "R" board lately ...Met??? Same questions, still trying to figure it out how to make relationships work, how to get along, what the other person wants, what we want....
