Well...there is the Spud Ranch up the hioghway from me. And there is (or used to be) a guy we call Potatoe Bob. He used to do commercial potatoe farming here when I was a kid.

Send me a DM if you have anymore info...

If it's a bill collector, ......ask for a 'finders fee'.

The Sud Ranch has a spud wrench fixed to the gate. He may be an old iron worker or something. Not a potato guy.

There's better tools for digging spuds than a spud wrench....

....even so, ironworkers could run up debts,

I still think you should inquire about the finder fee.

....or maybe ask the spud farmer if he wants to be 'found'.

Old Bob is/was a very private guy. I'm not gonna bother him. We learned that lesson 35 years ago!
The spud ranch guy looks like he may have a lodge or B&B going on...so I'd feel more comfortable pulling into his driveway.

If you haven't seen a spud wrench, it has a long pointed shaft that is used to line up a pair of beams or a bill collector. Properly used by a well trained person the wrench gives the user full control of the aligned party or beam.

That is exactly what is on the front gate of the Spud Ranch. I figure he's some southern iron worker perhaps retired. Spud Wrench / Spud Ranch...
