Default Tip if traveling through Oregon

Oregon State Law prohits you from pumping your own gas, so there will be attendants that do it for you. I hear their wages suck so a tip might be appreshated.

Thats how it is in Canada, they pump the gas for you. They don't even have credit card pumps in most places so you can't gas up whenever you feel like it or need it. You have to goto whatever is open.

Where do you go in Canada? We pump our own gas all the time.

Been on the Alcan 13 times now, the most recent was last August 07 to Washington/Idaho/Montana/North-South Dakota/Wyoming/Utah/Montana/and back up to Alaska. Fun three week vacation. Was heading down again in April but I'm traveling overseas in May. Looks like we'll head back to Montana in August again. We left north on the way back into Saskatchewan and through Alberta and then BC. I think the next time we head back we'll take that route again.

Nice. We have driven from Haines over to Edmonton, and South to the Okanagan, and then North to Haines

I love the Okanagan area, very scenic. Been that way 5 times now, it never gets old. The drop from 97C is sweet.

....this is hilarious,

....people actually crabbing about not being able to pump their own gas.

It used to be that service stations provided a service.

The owners figured out how to make their customers do the work they used to have to hire laborers for, ...they created 'self service'.

....and now those same people complain if they can't do what used to be provided for them.

.
..

When I go into certain grocery stores I get a kick out of the folks in the 'self-serve' checkout line. They do all the work of the checker and the bagger, and they don't pay any less for providing that service to the owners.

The owners love those sheep......
.
..
