Alaska as a whole was 9F over normal for February, with an extreme of 16F above normal for King Salmon.

We've had practically no snow in SE, except for Haines and Yakutat, and they're at about half of what they usually get.

Let's make it unanimous... real warm in the greater Fairbanks area too. We had a few days in the 40s. Crazy.

Reminds me of Don Young's rant from years back about the likelihood of a warm winter day in Fort Yukon...

Oh I bet! I finally don't have to pay for heating fuel and there's a winter-long heatwave AND prices drop like a rock... that is my luck, I tell ya. Argh!!

Ha.

One of those days I talked to my dad on the phone and it was colder in my hometown in California than it was here, plus it was snowing like hell. That pretty much defines crazy.

Warm, warm, warm in the valley! Every friend I talk to all across the country, generally had the winter weather that we didn't. And the wildfires have begun!
