Fraud of any kind, or any amount, is still fraud. You have better luck getting an actual job instead of facing massive charges (and then loosing your job), if you faked residency. Trust me i would love to be in alaska, but if you do things the right way, everytime, then all will work out.
Yeah, that's pretty much all I was trying to say. It seems like there's always someone wanting to know how to get around this or that, and it's gotten old. Just do it right instead of trying to find a way to fake it. I've also heard of situations such as what Rntim mentioned -- people seem to get turned in a lot for lying to obtain resident hunting and fishing licenses. If that's not local resentment, I don't know what is.

ETA looks like lying about residency is taken seriously even on the Kenai.

The Alaska Wildlife Troopers have charged more than a handful of individuals for lying on their sportfishing licenses since late October and offenders thinking they avoided detection may soon find themselves in trouble, as troopers address suspicious cases throughout the winter.

“It keeps the troopers busy during the wintertime,” said wildlife trooper Sgt. Paul McConnell. “We’re so busy in July that we’ll write the names of suspicious people down and put them on the backburner, and then the real investigations start when things slow down.”

False statements on resident sportfishing license leading to charges levied by troopers are prevalent on the Kenai Peninsula

Speaking of residency.... Got my AK DL today... Somewhere there is a joke hiding in that, being it is April 1st. Seeing as the only place I can call home is here, since my other property sold and closed it is the legit thing to do.

BTW - I hate those paper licenses and unlike with my wife, they let me keep my old DL - so the policy has changed since mid-2014. They said because of complaints about the paper DL they let you keep your old one...

Clearly my point was missed here. I am not scamming anyone. I will be living and will be a resident of alaska when I apply for my future job with the state I was simply asking how I go about doing so. People need to calm down and not jump to conclusions when you aren't even aware of the situation.

You didn't explain it right if all of us are getting it wrong.

So you have a pile of cash and will be coming up here to look for a job. You've scoped out where you want to live, but haven't figured out if there is a job in that area for you? And you need job to support yourself in the future? How I am doing so far?

Seems kind of backwards. When we wanted to come up here, we looked for jobs. At first we thought that it would be in Juneau, turned out it was in Anchorage. So it would have been a bad idea for us to have moved to Juneau only to have had to turn around and move again to Anchorage....
