I'll probably never get to Alaska. Wish I had when I was younger. Probably would have tried to live like Richard Proenneke. Just read the entire thread. Beautiful picks.

Without reading the whole thread, I'll just answer the OP's question,
I have only been her a few weeks and will only be here a few months but,
I'm living very well. The no mail for weeks is irksome, but I am truly enjoying my time here.

as for food, i hope you enjoy $7 for a grilled cheese sandwich :P a cheese burger is the same price

finding some thing locally can be a pain and shipping gets pricey too
Wow!! You have resturants!!! There's a general store here and, well, that's it.

Yup, Wasilla is correct. That was taken at the top of Baldy which is in the Wasilla, Huston area. From that view you can see Big Lake and well hundreds of lakes The powder was deep and endless.. Heaven it's Heaven up here. In the evenings, when the sun is going down it casts a pink light across the mountains and the snow glows pink. If there is fog or the clouds, if you will, are hanging low they cut the mountains in half. Something like this although this does not have the pink tint. This was taken in Eureka.

Authors Note: If you don't like cold weather, if your not an outdoors type person Alaska would probably not be Heaven but more toward the southern end of Heaven.
