Yeah, I laughed out loud when I read about all the 'help' that was offered...

....you must forget, other people can read the same forums.

Palmer raceway already has drag races scheduled,

...this so far only proposed 'event' isn't on their schedule.

There are already plenty of car shows and races in various parts of the state.

They actually are organized and scheduled events.

Got anything besides this speculation and conjecture?

Anything besides wishing and hoping from a bunch a wanna-be's who have visions of themselves as big time promoters?

You have some aversion to actual events?

.....or do you just like the banner?

The banner, like the title of this thread, doesn't represent anything but speculation....

yep there is a meeting on the 20th to try and get this event going, if things go right Race Wars will go on. thats why things are still in the planning stages. many other races and events are planned out in advanced also

the more events this summer the better big or small.

the only events on AKRP's schedule are the ones AKRP is running, yes this is still in the planning stages but the forum that was linked too has put on 2 car shows and various members have helped with about every car and bike show in south central AK.

also if you read through the forum you would find that the Race wars event is also on multiple other Alaskan car forums, and seems to have alot of support, and in the car scene(esp. one as small as what we have here in AK) support is what it takes, lots of volunteers are needed to make any show or race happen. its called grass roots motor sports.

to think that someone made up this event and its name as some sort of racial slur or chide, is ridiculously small minded, i wonder what really goes on in your head that the first thing you thought when you saw the term "race wars" was racial.

if you wanna support local racing in a safe manner of the street, show up and support it, if you don't want to support local racing show up and protest. either way please remember to pay your entrance fee at the gate

That's a pretty small bubble you live in, ask a couple of hundred people, if they saw a headline that says 'race wars' if they wouldn't think it had a racial connotation.

Is your head stuck under a hood?

Literally and figuratively, from the available evidence.....

The wanna-be promoters ought to consider changing the name to something else, ....maybe 'Car Wars', or something else that doesn't connote the racial expression they've chosen.

Commonly known as a drag race.....

....not commonly found under the heading of race wars.

Though you might keep trying, there is no defense of an indefensible position.
