This is a hard topic for me to start, but for now I would just like to know if anyone here has had this problem. Serious like, the way the D.O.L. people in Juneau had it, or possibly still have it.
Groups say mold in Juneau building is making workers sick Juneau Empire Story Archive I was going to quote something out of there to make a point, but I can not. The point is, the building was leaking bad for a long period of time, a number of people reported being sick from it, and it's nobody's fault and nobody's problem and the local 'mold expert' could find no reason to believe the building was the cause of anybody's sickness. California is the only state with laws to prevent people such as this from falling through the cracks, even though the problem of mold isn't something that is easy to pin down, and employers use that as a 'loophole' unless people hire an attorney themselves. What does a person do in a situation like this? Besides, of course, seeking employment elsewhere. There comes a 'point of no return' where leaving the building does not mean the sickness goes away. |

My ex father inlaw damn near died from it. He's still not right. There is something that will help. DM me about this system if you'd like.

Mold allergies are very prevalent in SE Alaska. I suffer from them very mildly myself.
But on two different occasions, the Prince of Wales has had to be hospitalized because of it. Nothing scarier than your offspring gasping for breath at 4 AM while no one answers the 911 line. It's to the point where winters here are out of the question for him, even if spending them here was his desire. You can take a lot of steps to prevent it in your home but in the workplace of course you don't have much control. The first step, I think, would be to petition for removal of carpets where you work. |

One of those units above will destroy the mold, because it's organic.

I wonder how one of those would work for a small apartment with no carpets. My son's in Portland now (where I will be a week from today for a bit
) and though the mold isn't so bad there it's still a fairly wet climate.I don't know how true it is but I have also heard that a lot of mold allergy in SE is actually an allergy to psuedo cedar. |

They work well Met. Pet odors or dander, cooking odors, chemicals from manmade products like particle board, dust, spiders etc...it knocks them all out.

Ah, I coulda used help with the spiders in my previous apartment! And they just give me the heeby-jeebies! This place here is bug-free, and although it is a basement apartment, seems to be quite mold-free too.
I actually have been to just about every kinda doctor here to find out what is / isn't going on, really not wanting to face the fact my leaky ceiling at the office really was causing my symptoms. (Disclaimer: nobody told me it is. I just know it is now.) I found out through allergy testing that I am ***not*** allergic to mold. To make a long story very short, nobody at work is going to lift a finger regarding my health issues and I need to relocate job-wise. All I am doing here, instead of what I ought to be doing FIRST . . . is finding out what other people may have experienced, and planning to put in a word to our dear old-time senator about making some regulations with some teeth in them for Alaska, like they have down in California. (I have sent him a preliminary email on the topic, we'll see if I hear anything. When I wrote to him back when I was 19 or so I did get an answer, so that left its impression on me on a personal level about his caring about being a public servant.) Meanwhile, if this mold is of the toxic variety, there is a lot of contradictory information online about what it does / does not do. I wonder if I could possibly have brought mold spores into my home just from comings and goings, like was suggested from some of what I have read online. |

The test was for mold, in general, which Dr. Charles Jackson, the traveling allergy specialist did on me including whatever the standard battery of tests he thought should be done.
I am not allergic to mold, nuts, wheat, dairy products, seafood, or cockroaches <img>. God knows why he tested for cockroaches as I had no say in what to test for and already knew I did not have a nut or seafood allergy, although I understand you can unknowingly be allergic to something. I know you like to argue but I do not expect this is a topic to argue with me about. I have had severe skin rashes on my hands which are now up my arms, patches on other parts of my body, my ears, neck, upper chest, occasionally puffing up of face like a balloon, watery eyes which get red and crusty and cracked all around the eye area, and now none of these symptoms come and go but area always there, although sometimes worse than others. I have read alot on this topic after getting symptoms and being given my first clue that breathing in this building is a serious health hazard. That is what the topic is about. If you would like to shoot down everything I have to say here be my guest. I am extremely afraid of whether my condition will clear up when I get away from this place. I am more interested in hearing from people who either have had experience with this or know someone who does, or simply have read something about the issue and wish to comment. I have lived my entire life in rain country and although I suppose a desert environment might do my health some good, the climate I live in has not presented a problem to me before. The visible symptoms started 18 months ago, with the hand rash from hell coming and going a bit before coming to stay. The puffy face and eye thing came and went, until last August when the eye thing set in for good. I have six-plus years breathing the air there and I can find little room for doubt that I am in big trouble with my health because of it. |

Who the h*ll is arguing?
( ......add hallucinations to your symptoms) There's thousands and thousands of mold species, ...you believe whatever you want about some traveling medicine show telling you you aren't allergic to mold, ....it's no argument that whatever test he gave you was probably not able to be all that inclusive. I'll leave you to your malaise, ....and not offer any more info for you to misconstrue.... . .. |
