Default Rance- firewood

Hey Rance, you have mentioned on several occasions that you have sold firewood in the past. How available and pricy is a trailer load of logs that I could cut myself, between Sterling and Homer?
Would it be wiser to buy a wooded acre outside of Homer just for wood? I could slowly clear it for the wood and still have the land to sell.

I believe firewood in Sterling goes for 140 bucks split. You might do better down Homer way buying it buy the trailer load. It's been 17 years since I sold any. And it was 85 bucks a cord split and stacked.

Have chainsaw. Will travel. Actually, I have 5 chainsaws of various sizes all which have not been used for years and all in a different state of repair. When I was working, it seem cheaper to buy another than to repair. But, seeing tree are plentiful up your way, I better plan on cutting some if I ever find my niche home. Then to top it off, I have these wood wedges which some are still in the log which did not split so they are still stuck in the log. This is a confession of a lazy man who does not finish the job. God help me if I have to cut my own trees again.
