Fairbanks schools won't close because of the cold. They leave it to the discretion of the parents whether or not their kids get to stay home.

Delta Greely schools just closed today due to -43 temps. I was I unaware that they closed down for cold weather.

Big school districts are a little different, than a bush school.

Lots of times it will depend on the buses. In McGrath, they have one bus, and IASD has the -50 cut off point. It is much safer.
