I saw this article on the Drudge's news page today. The article is about the future plans for Mekoryuk to sell or distribute reindeer meat nationwide:

The reindeer meat here is over $12 a pound. I do like it, but not that much.

Bison meat sells for $10 a pound here (ground meat), I bet they could find a market for reindeer meat in a somewhat comparable price range (10, 12 whatever, a pound).

Interesting, I saw they were trying to get something going a while back in the paper.

I love reindeer. My favorite is the reindeer tenderloin from the pump house in Fairbanks. It is the best and a great example of fine Alaskan dining serving quality local meat. The Pump House Restaurant guilty of passing off New Zealand deer as Alaska reindeer | News | newsminer.com

We're like the browns, we don't buy reindeer meat, we trade food from the Kuskokwim with meat from the Rock.
