Originally I was planning on renting a u-haul truck to move from Oklahoma to Anchorage but after doing some research on u-haul I dont think I want to rent from them(google uhaul). Penske and Ryder dont rent to alaska so I dont really know what else to try.
I cant find any other truck rental company that will let you take one of their trucks all the way to alaska. Does anyone have any suggestions on what company is the best for moving? The reason I wanted to use a u-haul truck is my car is not in good enough condition to drive 4000 miles, but I think I may end up buying a new car and renting a trailer instead of a truck. At least this way I can buy a car with an engine block heater and four wheel drive. |

Sell the car and buy a new one. Have a yard sale and sell most of your stuff, you can replace them here.

My wife & I had great luck using this service for a move from MA to NC. See what sort of quote they give you.

Well I have some furniture with some sentimental value and I will be taking it with me. A 400 cu ft would be big enough to carry everything I own as I only own two computers, a bed, a table, and some other things. It costs $500 to rent a trailer and $3500 to rent a truck so I figure I'll save $3000 going with the trailer!

Of course, before you drive up, get a Milepost and study it. You can also check this place out:

Milepost is an excellent resource.

When we checked into a UHaul from Wa to AK and got an over $3,000
quote, heck for that much we can buy a nice, large used trailer and at least have something in the end to show for the $3,000. Can even sell it once up there. |

$3000 for a Uhaul? How big was it? That seems awfully spendy even if it was a 28' box truck. Those trucks are really slow too.

It was for the smallest truck too, thats why I have decided to get a $500 trailer.
