Hi out there, I've been searching the classifieds but can't locate what I'm looking for. I'm looking for an 8 - 9 foot slide in camper doesn't need to be new but needs to be water tight, plan to drive it down the Alcan. If you know of anybody who is interested in parting with theirs can you please let me know.

Hi Tressa, look in Alaska Craigslist in the RV section. There are a lot of campers in there.

Yip I tried that, they are pretty much 11 footers, my husband will be towing a car hauler and doesn't want it to hang out the back of the bed too much.

I'm sure something will pop up, wait, get a pop-up camper. Have you checked any of the motorhome rental places? I'm sure they have some old campers for sale, or slightly used. When are you heading down the highway? I love stories on the Alcan, a lot of 'I remember that place' whenever I read up on a blog or story on people's drives.

He will be headed down the first week of June, we drove it last April 07 other than a few snow storms it was wonderful. I've never seen such big buffalo and the mountain sheep in Canada are just beautiful we had to take pictures of course but all the ones I've seen up here are white, the ones through the Yukon are beautiful.
We seen a huge buffalo must have been a fairly young one cuz it was full of **** and vingar and was taking on older ones in a playful mood and he ran across the highway right in front of us. Man would hate to hit one of those, a moose is bad enough but hit a buffalo. |

Try Commonwealth Boat Brokers and King RV. I would never buy a RV or boat from anywhere else! If they don't have what you want today, e-mail them as to what you're looking for. Let them do the searching.

Pop-up campers are awesome. We had one, and we took it all the way to Mexico and back, then to Edmonton and back. We are a family of four so it was tight, but manageable.

Tressa, if your still looking for a camper let me know, there are a couple for sale about what you described down the road from me. They do seem to be newer so may not be in your price range. An eco touristy company has them. I suspect they are last years models or so.

Thank you all, we finally found one out in Eagle River. It's not perfect but it will work for what we need it for.
