You can also get BACK on the ferry in Juneau and head up through Sitka and Skagway then drive to Anchorage. |

I need to get my butt on the ferry one of these days and see some of the SE towns I haven't been to yet. I haven't been to Haines and Gustavus since I was a wee little one, never been to Yakutat, Hoonah, Angoon, Tenakee, or Met... I really need to see POW too.

Ditto. Would love to go see the Alaska you see on tv.

Unfortunately, you'd have to take the Le Conte to make some of those stops. I hate the Le Conte. To me, it seemed claustrophobic and over-crowded the two times I was on it. There won't be a third. My father-in-law came down from Haines on it and felt the same.

Yeh, I've never heard anything good said about the LeConte, but it's not like it's a horribly long trip.
You know AMHS's motto: Public Transit Quality for Private Transit Price! It's the Alaskan experience... ![]() |

I suppose it would really depend on which channel you like watching.
