^ the salmon that are caught in Alaska's wild runs are coming home to spawn. They're going to die anyway.

Sigh. I should know better than to engage with a PETA troll, particularly a subliterate one who can't even craft a proper simple sentence.

So far, I think my favorite phrase is this one:

flaming cherubim

I'm trying to decide whether that would be a better name for a wine bar or a microbrewery in the Castro District.

The Flaming Cherubim

Cherubim is one of those perfect words you never forget.

Oh, sorry. That name is already taken. The Flaming Cherubim is a bathhouse in the Tenderloin.

I think he's convinced me to get out of the fish business and open a wine bar in California. Wine is vegan, right? Gotta hedge my bets against that hellfire.

No, "regular" wine is actually not vegan. One of my sisters is vegan, so I am at least vaguely aware of such things...

Funny story about my vegan sister visiting us...

To her credit, she came up to visit a couple of Christmases ago, and stayed for a few weeks. The evening that she was arriving, my cousin's wife called me about dinner preparations since she's not familiar with cooking for a vegan, and she's always the perfect hostess (can you her me rolling my eyes?).

She had been sick with the flu and had just started feeling better, so had planned on making a soup, salad, and some other thing. So, she asks me if it's okay to put noodles in the chicken soup she's making. Confused, and thinking she had made a vegan soup and a "regular" soup, I said, "Uhhh, yyyyeahh.... I would imagine." She asks what's wrong, why did I answer like that? I said, "Well, she doesn't eat CHICKEN, so, the noodles don't really matter."

There's a long pause, then she asks, "What? WHAT??! Who the f*cX doesn't eat CHICKEN?"

Indeed.

My sister ate a lot of salad and looked horrified when I told her that my cousin's wife thought that chicken was vegan. lol

So, after she realized that chicken was not vegan, I had to go into the details of what is included when vegans say "no animal products." Like, everything. That prompted the question, "well then, what does she eat?" which I did not rightly know the answer to.
