Yes, Cooper Landing is a nice area...it's beautiful. But, it is a very small town. (of perhaps 300 or so). As such, job availability is limited. I would maybe start with seasonal jobs in the area, with the restaurants and hotels. Like this one:

Alaska Hotels: Kenai Lodge Discounts: Princess Lodges

Or...this one:

Alaska Sunrise Inn Home Page

You can send them an email inquiry about summer jobs. There are many tourists in the summer, and fishing for salmon and trout is a big draw. You can do a Google search for "Cooper Landing Alaska", or "businesses Cooper Landing Alaska", and will find quite a bit more info...

Sight-seeing float trips down the Kenai River is very popular here. It is common to see rubber rafts full of tourists, floating quietly down the river. Perhaps you could be the river guide for one of those businesses...

Of course to be a river guide of any kind, you need a Coast Guard Six Pack License.

This license is most appropriate for uninspected passenger vessels which by law are limited to six or less passengers for hire. These are usually smaller vessels and normally engage in charter fishing, whale watching, SCUBA diving, and tour cruises. And river rafting.
