More like outdoor parties by the lakes in the summer, drunks on snowmachines, drunks in boats, drunks with guns, that kind of stuff.

Drunks in bars are where they are supposed to be.

I actually have wanted to live there sunce I was a little girl. After actually visiting I decided that there was a reason why I was drawn to AK for so long. I love nature and I hate hot weather. My kids like sports a nd want to be ale to skii and ride snowmobiles but Tn is lacking on the snow dept.

Good luck with your move jojo... I think if you have the finances and wherewithal (okay that word doesn't look right...) to do it, then go for it. I don't really understand how people can NOT understand the desire to move on and try new places, but then I am a gypsy at heart and some of my friends think I'm the weird one so whatever

I am personally loving Alaska (yes, cold dark winter included) so this seems as logical a stop on the trip as any other. There are challenges though, it is a VERY expensive part of the country- and just up and leaving can be quite difficult if you don't have the right resources. It would seem a foolhearty move if you have children or medical issues and did NOT have job and housing set up in advance. I am guessing you're planning top ensure the job and house part is set up before arriving though?
