Pretty easy. Plenty of seasonal employers also provide housing which is what I'd suggest rather than trying to find a short term rental.

Are you looking for work as a guide? I'm just guessing because of your user name.

It seems like the smaller, family run types of places, as far as lodges go, are more likely to provide decent places for their employees. The corporate ones I think just shove them in dorms.

Hi, Riverguide,

I've never been to Alaska, but over the past several weeks I have been in contact with a few family owned lodges, who were looking for help. They did have employee lodging, as well. Don't know who private, though. The dates they needed people weren't good for me, and they couldn't allow my dog.

They may still need workers, so I'll direct message you with the contact info tomorrow; they each seemed like very personable, friendly people. Good luck to you!

Hey Riverguide: I live and work in Seward, so might be of some help. There is quite a bit of summer seasonal jobs here: fisheries, tourism, hotels, restaurants, bus driving, construction, etc. Apartments are available. Almost no employer offers employee housing...yer pretty much on your own for that.

Do Google searches for "Seward Phoenix Log", "Seward Alaska tours jobs", "Alaska Job Bank", "Kenai Fjords National Park", "Seward Alaska hotels", "Seward Fisheries", "Seward Alaska jobs", "Spring Creek Correctional Center", etc. A fun job would be working on one of the larger boats that tour the park....utterly fantastic scenery and wildlife viewing. (try job search with Kenai Fjords Tours). A pretty much guaranteed line of work (but absolutely totally no fun) would be in one of the local fish canneries...they always need help in the summer months...lots of overtime available. You can dig up quite a bit of info right off the internet...

PS: (Your chances of lining up a job are better here than in Cooper Landing)

Bud

That's because the summer working season is pretty much May-Sept. You'd probably have to check with the particular employer to find out if a late arrival would be okay or if their start up dates differ.
