I think flights get more expensive in the summer. You might check out Alaska Airlines / Horizon Air and see if you can reserve before things get too expensive.

I don't know....I think flights are pretty expensive year round. I personally haven't seen a difference between summer vs. winter but book early is definately the key. I once was strapped with a $400 Sea-Jnu ticket...one way!!

Flights...I just don't understand why we have to pay soooo much here in the US. My wife is paying for some tickets for her son to fly from Scotland to Ireland for about 40 UK pounds, about $70 US. What's the deal? Why do we have to pay so darn much for a flight with a serving of peanuts and Coke/Pepsi?

![]() It has been in the thirties and forties here in ol' ND. I rode my trailbike through the snowflakes and over the sand dunes to the river. I climbed up on a giant chunk of ice washed up on the shore, and caught three nice walleyes and a monster pike. Watched the geese come up from SD in small groups (will be thousands by next week.) The sun set at about 8PM in brilliant gold-orange and fire red. I blitzed around the sand dunes and then cruised home. It is now 37. We have weather that is worse than Anchorage and similar to Fairbanks. On average, Fairbanks has an extra month of hardcore winter (subzero temps), but we beat them in the Summer with our 115F heat. Here it can be -45F with an -80F windchill, and six months later it can be 105-115F for two weeks straight. ND has some of the harshest weather on the planet. Some days in the Spring and Fall, the weather can fluctuate by 60 degrees in a single day. You don't have to travel all the way to Alaska to have harsh weather... You don't even have to go to Canada. |
