Iím moving from ANC to Seattle and need to find campgrounds along the quickest route there. So far I havenít had a lot of luck in finding specific info online. Iíve never done this drive before and would like to have somewhat of a plan, instead of just driving past my limits in hopes of finding a place. Any ideas or links of where I could stay? Also, what exactly will I need in documentation to bring my pet?

The Milepost lists every campground and more along the entire route.

I see that Costco has the new issue of the Milepost.

Get the mobile app Allstays for your smart phone. It has all the campgrounds along your route and has much more information about each campground than the Milepost does. The Milepost can be pretty skimpy about overnight accommodations and campgrounds, especially if you're not an advertiser.

I actually find the Milepost less and less useful every time I drive the highway. While territorial and provincial campgrounds may be listed, a lot of private campgrounds aren't. And the public campgrounds may not be open for another month and a half. The Allstays app lists pretty much everything, public and private, and has much more information about each campground than the Milepost does. For motels, those free pamphlets that can be found at almost every gas station and restaurant on the highway list far more motels than the Milepost does. The last time I drove the highway, which was last November, I don't think I looked at the Milepost more than once or twice.

Is your pet a rhinoceros or the typical cat/dog? I think you just need a recent rabies vaccination document. Some campgrounds may not allow them, however.

FWIW it's pretty easy to just pull to the side of the road and camp once you are a half day north of the border. If you want campgrounds, be VERY sure of your dates as on the "off" season they are all closed completely.
