Your right, its worth a hand written letter to the hire manager. I also understand that their are some oil companies outside of the big 3 that are trying to get some of the new ANWR leases, does anyone know which companies these are. I have worked for BP on every single facility over the past 13 years so I think I could add alot of value in that regards. I could develop P&ID's and equipment lists from a blank piece of paper.

I am working on a FOIA request to get the govt created Aspen software (likely written in fortran) so that I can write my own version of hysys. i am hoping that I can get most of the unit operation sub routines and then I can just figure out how to convert it to a new language and write a gui for it.

Mines have slurry systems and water treatment for the camps etc so I could add value there perhaps. They may even be interested in grinding and injecting, etc.

Yea, I would not work on site lol. I have done pretty well managing my life in such a way that I have no regrets. I worked in pogo for one week when it was still exploratory, never again. There is no scenario or situation that would ever put me physically in a mine.

If you ever wonder why you're unemployed, just let me know and I'll explain it to you.

Oh, I was totally kidding. No one is telling Pitts anything. You must not be following along in the "We're #1 in STDs" thread, lol. He's been told nine ways from Sunday that if he wanted work, he would be working, but with all of his conditions on employment, he has eliminated 99.9% of the jobs he's qualified for in Alaska. His unemployment status is not a mystery.
