Have you seen the ad Absolute Vodka put out? With the map of the US. Called "In an Absolute World" or something. It was funny...yet not funny. I couldn't see Alaska on their map!

It's not locations on that map. It's just a pie type chart.

The DNR map merely used the shape of Alaska as a pie-chart in order to depict the percentages of who owns what in Alaska. Not the actual areas of Alaska that is owned. DNR also used the same projections for both Alaska and the lower-48, but not the same scale. As with most other maps like this, they scaled Alaska down in order for it to fit inside the lower-48.

Again, you are wrong about the scale. That image has both maps to the same scale.

Such as your repeated statements about the scale of various maps, where you've said the correct ones are not to scale when in fact they are!

Look at a globe. Measure the distances...
