Alaska Folk Festival!!!
Tonight is the first night of the 34th ANNUAL ALASKA FOLK FESTIVAL!
The festival runs from today to the 13th. Every night there are performances from 7:00-10:30pm AKDT, from local groups and guest artists.
If you live in Juneau- there's no excuse not to show up! If you're out of the area, you can tune into our local public radio station KTOO and listen live online!

You know it's Alaska when the 11 year old fiddlers are singing about the landfill to the tune of Davy Crockett and a band called the Empty Oil Drum Band does a song called "Heil Sarah Palin" 
On a more personal note, whoever set up the stage put the microphone really close to me, and apparently you could hear me very well over the radio. I guess you guys tuning in got a special treat!  |

Actually it's not all folk songs. It's sort of a mix of folk, acoustic rock, alternative, etc etc. I sang with my choir.

Sweet. I wonder if the local newspaper took pictures. Will have to look around later in the week. Finally see pictures of the infamous Xa'at.
