I saw some crocuses (spell?) coming up. My friend saw the first robin of spring, there's mud everywhere & it's windy as crap. Love it!!

I have a friend that used to live here who owns a restaurant in Milwaukee. I forgot what it's called, but he's Albanian and does pizza.

Yes...crocus. We're gearing up for the tulip festival. I have petunias and pansies growing in my planters. Yesterday, we were getting these mini rain sessions blowing over. You could see them coming inland over the water. I was walking a trail and then the winds would pick up, pelting rain, blowing wind. Blah. You pull your rainjacket hood up and keep walking, because they'll be gone soon enough...until the next one blows in....wait 15 minutes. Still...I cant wait for lilacs to bloom next month. They are my favorite!

Agreed, too bad they last for like an hour! But there's nothing better than the smell of lilacs!

Spring? You mean that ugly, muddy period of time between the end of winter and the return of salmon season?

Personally, I could do without Spring. It is by far the ugliest season of the year. Mud gets everywhere. Lets just go from break-up to summer and forget all that nasty ugly stuff inbetween.

Do lilacs grow in Alaska, or is it too cold for them?

The owner's name is Basri, very nice person and family. They had the best pizza place here in town but sold it and left. The pizza is still good, but I think the new owners changed distributors to save money, something like that. Not the same.

I wish all the snow would do a quick melt so I could put my slicks back on my mountain bike.
