I like to go to the other forums and look at their picture threads but from what I can see Texas doesn't have one.

I am a regular visitor on the El Paso (Texas) forum. Some great pictures there on my old home town.

I did my AIT training in San Antonio at Fort Sam Houston, back in 1980. It was pretty nice there. But I've never been back since. Had a great time tubing on the guadalahupy (yeah...I kow) river. In May I got sunburned the worst I've ever been...and was on the lake on 30 minutes. And the river walk in San Antonio was pretty cool. And I saw the alamo. And you could bring your own bottle into this little country bar we found.

I've never been to Texas, but I have a few friends on different forums who proudly call it home. They don't post any pics either.

You'll note that when Texans go on vacation, they ALWAYS go somewhere else.
If they ever get a photo thread started there it'll mostly be of other places anyway.![]() Actually, the "hill country" (using the term "hill" VERY loosely" around Alpine and such is very pretty. The Austin area is quite nice except for summer. But then there's the Dallas metro/monstroplex, the epitome of character-less urban sprawl if there ever was one, and humid and stinky to boot. Lets not even get into the reeking petro corridor from about Corpus to Houston, and you can definately keep Midland, Odessa, etc. El Paso makes even low-rent places like Albuquerque look good, and when you talk about flat, well, there's flat and then there's Texas flat. ![]() |
