I have become convinced enough myself to carry bear spray. I'll still keep by airlite 357 in my pocket in case it doesn't work. But spray first sounds like a good option.

Thanks for the information! I am vacationing in Alaska this summer and just ordered my bear repellent today. I feel so much better knowing how effective it is.

I hope you don't plan on flying up to AK because you cannot take bear repellent on a plane.

I just heard on the radio a guy jogging was mauled onn Strawberry Road. Between Soldotna and Kenai. He's ok but got chewed up pretty good. Ran right up on a sow with cubs.
