Default Is all of AK experiencing very late spring?

From SE...Curious as to how the rest of AK is doing spring-wise...we are FINALLY getting some calm, sunny and warm-er days here, and it feels like forever since we've had them!

Herring run was *short* to say the least. Or maybe it goes in fits and starts, I'm not sure...this will be the first year I have a boat of my own to go out on!!

Also, fishing is crappy but I hear tell some kings are coming in now. Buds finally popping on trees too.

What's ya'll's weather/fishing like?

Couple bears out here but not many...they should stay denned up until the out-of-state hunters give up!
I don't hate tourists; hey I deal with 'em all the time, but some of these out state bear hunters --Holy $%*--last year one shot a cub and left it on an island--thank god our Law Enforcement nailed that SOB.

Phew-- that's enough venting for one day!

It's just awesome here on the peninsula. But it seems about normal. Now they are forcasting rain and snow for the next couple days!

I wanted to go steamer clamming this morning...but I stayed out to late chasing northern lights. So I'll go a week from Sunday.

Normal around Fairbanks. It has been around 50 degrees during the day for about four days, then it cools to around 25 degrees during the night. Snows every now and then, which in turn melts fast enough. Willow buds have been showing for three weeks or so, and a few snow geese are already here. I imagine that the ice at the Nenana (under the tripod) should break in Early May, hopefully matching the day and time I entered on the Classic.

It has been snowing all day around Fairbanks, although it's not sticking to the ground in low areas near Fairbanks, nor in Fairbanks itself. It's supposed to stay a little cool through perhaps Sunday, and then warm during the day to perhaps 50 degrees.
