OK we have been searching maps, web sites, magazines, forums like this one ect...... We are MOVING, we just dont know what town to move too, yet.
We have 4 children, ages 14, 11, 9 & 10.... We want to stay in the Southeastern part of the state, we need a local school system, small to medium town, we want to live outside of town a little, we would like to have utilities like phone and electric but they are not a priority, we need enough land to build a greenhouse and to keep my dogs... I raise goats here, and would love to take a few with me to produce cheese and some meat when needed but I dont know if that is possible, I know I would have to provide heat in the winter months for them, but does anyone have any experiance raising goats or chickens in that area of Alaska ???? Is is possible or feasible ? Thank you for your help and God Bless |

My aunt and uncle raise goats on the Kenai Peninsula. In Sterling. They do real well here. Don't see why they would not do good in southeastern AK.
