You didn't hear? The TSA said that the new threat is from the ocean. Everyone will get searched on cruise ships now.

Gee, Danny, what so hard in loading your wheels onto a ferry from Rupert or Seattle or Haines? That way, U don't worry about TSA body searching you or taking away your Playboy mag.

Must be something new. All they did for us was scan our bags and send us through a metal detector.

Oh, and the TSA is what you make of it. If you go through nowing how everything works, it is a smooth process.

No, it isn't always a smooth process, regardless of one's knowledge of the rules. How can it be a smooth process when the rules aren't uniformly enforced from airport to airport? When you queue up, TSA either has a video or audio tape over the PA system, instructing you to remove your shoes, put your laptop, shoes, bags, blah blah in bins. When I was flying out of DFW, the TSA people were yelling...yelling mind you, at people who WERE putting things in totes, instead instructing them "Don't put the backpack in a tote. Don't put your bags in the totes people." So, standard practice is to place your things in totes and here they are, getting mad at people for doing what they practice in other airports. So no....it isn't always a smooth process. You've simply been fortunate enough not to run into any snag areas.
