Oh poor Juneau, what exactly makes you all feel so special. Apparently I'm not understanding but do we owe something to Juneau?

Too bad only the Anchorage area voters would have that sort of access, and half the population of Alaska would become second class citizens in terms of government.
That is indeed exactly what would happen, and it is indeed exactly why voters have repeatedly voted it down.

So I'm assuming it's easier for you to go to Juneau than to fly into Anchorage? so is Anchorage second class citizens cuz we don't have access to Juneau without it costing an arm and a leg. I'm not sure voters repeatedly voted it down, I know Juneau voted it down and it would make sense for them too.
Juneau is a beautiful place and I don't look at fishing and mining as a bad item sorry that you feel that it is.

Your logic isn't valid. I said nothing about fishing and mining, good or bad. YOU did.
The logic in your first paragraph is exactly the same, and equally invalid. First, learn what the facts are and what the votes were. And learn why. This topic has been beat to death and I'm not going to repeat it. Read the previous articles.

you don't owe us a damn thing. so take your self-rightous nonsense and stuff it somewhere.
Palin dosn't even live here. The state provides her with a mansion, with a staff to maintain it, and she refuses to live here. The staff still maintains it.
What's so wrong with a low/no interst loan to deal with the fuel issue? Is that a handout?
To be honest, the Feds were willing, but Palin shot it down. And our mayor said "yes maam" and ran back to his litter box.
No one here is asking to be saved. No one here is asking to be rescued.
And some of us are asking why avalanche guards were never put in. They've had 30 years to do it.
Yes, in a way juneau has been spoiled with what most alaskans consider "cheap power". I've admitted this earlier many times.
The problem is how this is being handled by the state and AEL&P. If this was Anchorage or in that area it would be a totally differnet attitude in the air.
That's the real problem.
Oh, btw...we excel at making lemonade out of lemons. It's just our way. Being land-locked, and off the road system has it's issues, but also it's advantages.
The advantages win.

It is not very hard to make your self energy suffienct and get off that damn grid, it is easy to do $3,400 gets you a propane generator that can run your whole entire house. for smaller needs generators are a must if you live in alaska.. they come in handy in so many different ways.. Jeeepers even eskimos use them now miles out on the ocean ice. !!

Anchorage "is" second class citizens? Anchorage is second class citizens?
Dude, Tressa, how long have you lived here, six months? You're not even an Alaskan! Which is clearly evidenced by the complete illegitimacy of what you've been writing. Anyone who thinks Anchoragites are second class citizens has spent her entire life living in a delusional fantasyland. Anchorage gets everything. The rest of us have to take whatever scraps the high and mighty anchoragites don't want and you have the gall to say you're a second class citizen? If you had even the slightest clue of what it's like to be a real second-class citizen, I have no doubt you'd be running back home down south in a heartbeat, hopefully bringing your whiny self-serving little girl attitude with you. No one here is feeling even the slightest bit of pain for you, okay?

Yeah...pretty easy to spout off get over it and boo hoo comments while sitting on the ANC royal throne. Juneauites aren't upset that they must conserve or alter their way of life...they're damned good at doing that and bonding together. What miffs them is the clear scoffing of their city by the governor and their mayor. Yes, people choose to live in JNU despite its higher cost of living. Yes, they understand they must conserve and make the best out of a bad situation, but the entitled and elitist attitude of many outside of JNU leaves a bad taste in the mouth.
