can anyone tell me something about glenallen? Size, location, crime do they see the Northern Lights? What areas do see the lights and how often. I've heard that Fairbanks is the best for viewing, is that so? Thanks

I passed through Glennallen a few times. This was back in the late 70's. Wasn't much there. I remember the court room was a mobile/modular home. Nice area. Cold and crisp in the winter. Seems they get more snow than Fairbanks. Woodsy. Not as windy as some areas like Delta Junction. You will have no problem seeing the northern lights there. Might not be quite as good as Fairbanks but the difference is probably minor. Copper River isn't far away. Nice fishing.

We pretty much get to see northern lights anywhere in the state...as long as the clouds don't cover the sky.

Glennallen has a population of about 900-1000, has a new grocery store. There's a 3-way highway junction, west running to Anchorage, north running to Delta and Tok, south to Valdez. Highly religious community (8 or 9 churches that I know of). People are great, but definitely lean to the right. That's okay, but their a little vocal about it. That's okay too. I don't live there. Northern lights are visible there on active nights, but for moderate acitivity viewing its better in Delta or North Pole. Too bright in Fairbanks proper.
