A good gift for someone moving to Alaska? (Metlakatla: travel, price)

I live in Texas and know a woman who's moving to Alaska in a few weeks. I'm trying to think of a little going away present for her. Anybody have any recommendations? Is there something everyone who moves to Alaska needs but doesn't know it until they start living there? And no, a light-sound machine is out of my price range.

Excellent gift! Personally, I love to read travel books, especially the Lonely Planet series, so that's always a good idea.

Checks come in the mail but it's really "hush" money
Keeping warm can be a *****

However people say it's worth it, and I tend to agree
Even when the air itself begins to freeze
Alcohol that's blueberry-flavored keeps you toasty
Though I've been told it's quite pricey I think it's your best bet with the current cost of electricity
Enough silly rhymes about Alaska cause I think you'll see
