Default A good gift for someone moving to Alaska?

I live in Texas and know a woman who's moving to Alaska in a few weeks. I'm trying to think of a little going away present for her. Anybody have any recommendations? Is there something everyone who moves to Alaska needs but doesn't know it until they start living there? And no, a light-sound machine is out of my price range.

As much blueberry vodka as you can afford. It is available here but at twice the cost as in the -48.

Hey...I would appreciate that sort of gift! I have never had it, but it does sound divine...along with her many tempting concoctions.

Is your friend driving up? Maybe a Alaska Travel Guide and Alaska Trip Planner, The MILEPOST: Alaskan travel guide and Alaskan trip planner for Alaska, Yukon Territory, British Columbia, Alberta and Northwest Territories would help her out. Or a small camera so she can send you pictures!

Bears are big and brown, they might eat you but maybe not
Life in Alaska is often tough
Occasionally you get screwed over by politicians
Checks come in the mail but it's really "hush" money
Keeping warm can be a *****

However people say it's worth it, and I tend to agree
Even when the air itself begins to freeze
Alcohol that's blueberry-flavored keeps you toasty
Though I've been told it's quite pricey I think it's your best bet with the current cost of electricity
Enough silly rhymes about Alaska cause I think you'll see
Read this poem again and find the hidden gift suggestion!
