It is with painful irony that natural disasters bring out the worst in people - the ignorant with the most asinine things to say.

I truly do despair. That's becoming my mantra these days, it seems, whenever I foray into one of the ...other forums.

It does seem that in some cases, evolution is actually going backwards these days.

You cannot deni natural disasters are on the increase. Things are going nuts around this old world for various reasons. Do we live in Biblical times? I'm not sure, but it is begging to look thay way. These are disasters that seemingly only happened every few decades, are happening almost weekly, if not more often.

I disagree with that. We just have instant media coverage of them these days, that's all.

You are exactly right. If the world didn't have access to instant news via Fox, CNN, MSNBC and the plethora of online new sites, we would be finding out a day or two later. Same with the 'global warming' hooha. If it hadn't of become a political agenda, there wouldn't have been such a rabid outcry. Now the threat is global cooling.
Earth is managing the way she has for millions of years. It is a cycle she has gone through time and times again.

The weather is an effect of global climate change. But seriously, what kind of insane thing is that to say???? It's like those freaks who protest any military funeral blathering on & on about gays. Or the people who like to blame that tsunami on gay people. Nitwits, the whole lot of 'em

You hit the nail on the head. This global warming hysteria is one of the biggest scams ever attempted. You have scientists with very little integrity who are hungry for research grants to support a hypothesis that is based on junk science. Then you have politicians who can use this crap to impose myriad of taxes to raise funds to fight a problem that doesn't exist and also fund these same prevaricating scientists. It's a vicious circle of stupidity but the news media only gives one side of the story because they're a bunch of "progressives" just like the aforementioned politicians. It makes me nauseous.

Again...ignorance. Met has the right to despair. Considering the first accurate earthquake prediction occurred in CHINA, I really do not think they are weak. It is not a finite science, it is relatively new...and is still full of error.
