..........gas finally tops $4.00 a gallon in the valley. Yikes! By all the reports I read it will be $4.25-$4.32 a gallon within 7 days. Most forecasts are calling for $5 by mid summer. Anyone changing their plans yet? Anyone selling their big SUVs or trucks yet?

I'm no conspiracy theorist, but there has to be a conspiracy at work here. I don't buy the simple supply and demand notion. Gas has went from $1.25 a gallon to $4.00 and on up in about 30 months.

Heating fuel around Fairbanks is predicted to hit $5.50 per gallon by winter. Unleaded gasoline is already $4.04 per gallon. People planning to move to Alaska would be wise to select places where homes are heated with natural gas, wood, or coal. Most homes around Fairbanks are heated by heating fuel, although some folks have been using wood in conjunction with furnaces or boiler for years. Food prices are going up by the day, too, and so rent, etc.

Well, down here gas is going for $3.87 a gallon and predicted to hit $4 by the end of the month, thankfully, down here, heat is not such a big deal, yeah we get our obligatory 3 weeks of semi-cold weather wherein the locals speculate on the coming ice age, sometimes even a snow. The most dreaded event here is an ice storm. The ice breaks off tree limbs that some people foolishly build their houses underneath, ah yes....gravity is such a predictable event, just Issac Newton (no kin to Figg)

Diesel is more expensive that gasoline. Should be around $4.29 to $4.49 per gallon already.

Diesel is now 4.60 here in Anchorage, and unleaded is about 4.00. Crazy. I drive a truck that gets 9.6 mpg, but I need it for work. =(

You're probably working for free. 9.6 mpg, ouch! I just got done reading the latest Forbes oil report, it does not look good. All predictions see prices settling between $6-$9 per gallon. Ugly people! I think those dramatic changes in lifestyle we all talked about, but hoped would never really happen ARE HAPPENING right before our eyes. The Forbes report also spelled out how food prices are going to go up another 30-40% over the next few years. Airlines are basically going to cease to exist too. Lookin uglier by the minute boys. Hope you all lerned how to hunt and fish this great land. Seriously.
