My mother-in-law has been here for a couple of weeks already. I have enough stress to deal with.

Smile Left the lower 48 because of stores like Target

Wasilla is not a good place. Walmart-Lowes-Home Depot are all there, now a Target.
Urban Sprawl!! (at its worst) Traffic Lights, too much unplanned growth.
I left Bozeman, Montana because of all the growth. Then i just left Montana for Alaska because of all the change. One should study the area they want to live in. Why move to Alaska to live in Wasilla (other than to be closer to being able to get away)
By the way, I live in East Talkeetna. No Walmarts-No Targets - No stores! - Just Visitors for 100 days. (looking at the way life use to be) Talkeetna throws a party in September -celebrating getting their town "back" (from the tourist).

It's all personal opinion. We have almost 5 acres of beautiful horse property with incredible views of the Talkeetna and Chugach ranges. Quite frankly, we couldn't be happier.

Farmers Market - Fishing - Hunting - Trading (Bartering) People help each other.

To think, a society where one can not function without a Wal-Mart or Target or Fred Meyers. One must be from another planet

A couple of years ago I was sitting on the bench in front of Nagley's...a touron struck up a conversation with me and asked "Well, what do they do in the winter, just close up the town?".

And I function just fine without Wal*Marts, Targets, et al. They are all withing driving distance from where I'm at now; I just have no need of them.
