It's time to drill for the incredible resources available up there on the Coastal Plain and secede from the Union. I just moved here but I've been pissed off for years about the fact that idiot politicians(almost entirely Democrat) won't let us go get our own natural resources because of the lies of the eco-nuts. Why the hell should the nonsensical objections of a MA or NY Democrat impact the necessity to drill for our own oil?

Not to mention that the same eco-nuts won't let us build new refineries or nuclear power plants. When is common sense going to come into play? Especially since the objections of the aforesaid eco-nuts are pure BS?

In the last 24 hours here in Newport, Maine it has gone from $3.89 to $3.99 and now to $3.94. It just went over $4.00 in Bangor, which is 30 miles form here, to $4.03 a couple days ago. Heating oil is @$4.50 a gallon, OUCH!

Default ugly and getting uglier

Fuel costs here are ugly and getting uglier. We're paying $4.17 for unleaded and diesel is up to $4.93 at one place!

6/2 -- gas in Seattle was $4.03, and that's for the crappy cheap stuff at Safeway/Carrs/Vons (with my gorcery member "fuel discount").

I'd stop driving all together if I could figure out how to haul 150 lbs of cat litter up the 20% grade hill to my driveway without giving myself a heartache or blowing out my knee

I dont drive, have never had a car or license, ever.. and people ask me how I get by.

I tell them that I ride my bike and walk around town.. I need the exercise and with the cost of gas these days, I tell them I couldn't afford to drive!!
