The Republicans mentioned above have done a lot for Alaska, much more than any Democrat I can think of. That said, it makes no difference if these guys are corrupt or not, since most of both the Republicans and Democrats in Congress are corrupt. Sooo, to the person who brought up the issue above, look into your own State politics and you will find enough corrupt Republicans and Democrats.

By the way, I am a conservative with no political affiliations (not Republican, nor Democrat).

You lower-48ers have absolutely no clue what you are referring to, and therefore your opinion has no value in Alaska.
When I pay funds into the pot, and a pork rind like Young spends it on retarded projects like that bridge, you better believe I'm going to say something. If you really want the bridge, pay for it yourself. Until then, expect the heat to be brought on dirtbags like Don Young.

This would be like an Alaskan saying that the government is spending too much money on keeping the blue ridge parkway open and we need to close it down. Your views don't matter up here in Alaska, keep them in the hills there.

I assume Young is your man? Say what you want about the Parkway, seizure of land by the Feds is an ever so odious thing. Seriously, 398 million for a bridge taller than the Brooklyn bridge and nearly as long as the Golden Gate, in Ketchikan!! Alaska? Don't get me wrong, If you support Young because he does good things and brings federal dollars to the state, I understand that. Realize though, that those fed dollars are either coming from everybody's already too high taxes. Or they're being borrowed on debt. I think you understand why he should be called out.

Instead of bashing our senator for doing so much...bash you own for not doing enough!

...The only Alaskans responding to your post, besides myself, were Warptman and Rance."...

Sir: I have lived, fished, and worked in Sand Point, 575 WSW of Anchorage, since July 1988. I think that qualifies me as an Alaskan. Merely because my forum ID does not indicate home town is no reason to jump to confusions.

Wow: just realized I've been on this rock exactly 20years. Maybe I like it ....

No, I prefer they take as little of your money as possible for projects in the ole' North State. I would appreciate it if your Senator and Representative treated office as if it were a public trust and not simply an entitlement...

Sure, spent a summer with a buddy doing odds around a farm in Wasilla. What does that have to do with anything?
