I was glad that my oldest son was there. We buried her (Kayla was her name) in the backyard at my wife's request.
Just a day before, someone I know at work and I arranged for her to bring a dog from a shelter to our home so my wife could take a look, and a day after the old dog was put down the new dog arrived. My wife fell in love with the new dog, but cried for days remembering the old one. She still cries to this day, but the new dog has brought a smile to her face.

Yeah, it took me ten years to get another German Shepherd, have Him (Dreifus) a large male and his daugher (Jorja) a small -65 lbs- female, not sure about Dreifus sometimes, he loves water and will submerge to retrieve ducks. Both are smart enough to exhibit a sense of humor.

Not necessarily, perhaps your definition, or understanding, of "civil" may need a bit of adjusting. Perspective is such an interesting phenomenon.

In my family of four cats, only two of whom were blood-related, one of those chunky males and the tiny unrelated female were probably the goofiest folks I've ever known!
They played practical jokes on each other, on the other cats, and on me with relentless glee every day! And when her joke paid off, the little girl would leap in the air, twirl around, and shriek with delight!
The joy our animal companions give us is a joy that lasts forever.

Here is a photo
This is my wife's new dog. Her name is Abbie, a Rott/Lab mix, but mostly Lab as she is very friendly and gentle. She was nearly a year old when we got her a year ago:

Hi again:
On firts thanks at all these good boys here gaves me your support with my old friend dog.
Now he is sleeping at my feed, very quiet, i tried the last chance, my vet gives me a drug phenobarbitol, maybe around, from pharmacy, the last chance to calm hiis continuos fears and maybe terrorific visions, it was not a good life to continue living, seems this drug goes well, i win time, How much??, only God has the answer, we are only humans, my dog is very quiet, rest and sleep normally, he does not want to jump across the window, like crazy.
I know well this is only for a time, but now he has a good quality of life, not always crazy and near to heart attack, My God, you have our life in your hands, including our dogs.
Barkingowl, very nice prayer thanks. Glitch thanks for your words, Dusty Rhodes, RayinAK, a million thanks for your support.
Another way,,, Pigeonhole, i read you are coming to Girona, no problem, i can help as i can, you are looking for 'casa de huespedes', is a kind of 'hotels' very cheap for here , is similar to your bed and breakfast, but be carefully the are many very dirties, expnsives and bad.
If you explain me which kind of travel are you planing here i will help, is not a problem for me do it .some questions, You come alone, or with your family??, Young or a bit age???
Which part of Girona??',, city or a village like Lloret de Mar??
Are you planning stay in Girona, or only the airport and want visit Barcelona???
I need a bit of info, have in mind that now Spain is very expensive, and Catalunya, much more, and you need to know a bit about, to pay the right money and do not get thiefted, for example in Barcelona is normally if get a taxi, carry for a long, long stupid trip to pay more, if you are foreigner.
please some info and i can explain some tricks to prevent above problems, also i can speak about the places to visit here, and do not loose time, for example in Barcelona, a nice place is Tibidabo mountain abround 500mts high, at the top, is very cheap arrive not in taxi, by public transportation you can see at the bottom all the city, very, very nice, and at your rear mountains, i live there in one mountain rear the Tibidabo, another place is Sagrada Familia and much more.
If you stay only in Girona, take a train for Barcelona, and visit my city, i can help to search a good hotel or similar around Girona, if you will stay there only.
RayinAK, very nice your wife's dog, now i have 4 dogs , 2 from my father he died years ago and i continue care yours, like mines 2 huskies, from my father, they lives in my father's house, i have 2 lots land at wall, one mine and the other from my father, and the other dogs are in mine, rescued from the street years ago, not pedigree dogs, but i love all 4.
One of the huskies, 3 years old, was living, we can say rescued, from a flat in the city, you say condo,,, Did you imagine a Husky living in a small flat/condo 60M2 only 2 times short time at street, always with a chain??? horrible of course.
Now he has a big lot land to run and to be happy, and other Husky not to be alone, male and female, they are really happy, good meal fresh water, space to run fenced and feel free.
Ok, i think i writed a long, sorry.
Thanks for all: Jesus

Notice I put the word "civilisation" in quotation marks ..... indicating perspective and as a european used to large cities ( London, Manchester, Paris etc ) then moving to a alaskan village - Cold Bay -( some 60 odd inhabitants ) I think my comment was correct - civilised is a subjective matter.

You speak well! Yo nunca usaba el accento tampoco pero no es porque de mi computadora Porque de mi inabilidad. Tambien, si tienes alguno decir o una respuesta a mi pregunta, me gustaria mucho.

Vera,
Remember to use a tilde over the "N" on the word "ano" Make it look like this: "año"
Not a bid deal, but some folks will chuckle if not spelled or written that way. Yo soy fluente en Español Castellano y tambien en el Español Latino-Americano.
